Alma Leona Brandon

Herrin- Alma Leona Brandon, 88, of Herrin, died at 12:35 PM, Wednesday, June 2, 1004 at Whispering Oaks Room and Board in Marion. Alma was born on March 12, 1916 in Brookport, IL to Bert & Ada (Davis) Foe. She married Arthur R. Brandon on January 4, 1934 in Herrin. He preceded her in death on August 2, 1986. Mrs. Brandon retired as a seamstress at Smoller Bros in Herrin. She was a member of Union Gospel Mission in Herrin. SURVIVORS: Daughter- Sharon Kay Garrett- Herrin Son & dtr in law- Terry & Joan Brandon- Corpus Christi, TX Son & dtr in law- Gary & Judy Brandon- Herrin Eight Grandchildren: Kara Sherrard- Herrin Michelle Garrett- Herrin Doug Brandon- Herrin Brad Brandon- Georgia Link Brandon- Indiana James Brandon- Corpus Christi, TX Neal Brandon- Georgia Chad Brandon- Chicago Great Grandchildren: Brent Sherrard- Herrin Amanda & Travis Brandon- Corbin, KY Will Brandon- Georgia Logan Brandon- Georgia Steven Brandon- Georgia Matthew & Jenna Brandon- Herrin Luke Brandon- Corpus Christi, TX Niece & nephew- Joyce & Jim McEntire- Herrin Great Nephew- Tony McEntire- Herrin She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son in law; Jim Garrett and one sister; Dorothy Nava. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 5, 2004 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Robert Jilek will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
