Angelo T. Abba

Herrin- Angelo T. Abba, 76, of Herrin, IL, passed away at 11:35pm on Thursday September 30, 2004 at Herrin Hospital in Herrin, IL. Angelo was born on May 8, 1928 to Louis and Giovanna (Gastaldi) Abba. They preceded him in death. He married Lena Barni on September 2, 1957 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Herrin, IL. She survives. Also surviving are: 1 daughter- Camy and Mike Clark- Paducah, KY 2 sons- Louis Abba- Stiritz, IL Mike and Kristie Abba- Herrin, IL 2 grandsons- Bryan and Dylan Clark Paducah, KY 2 brothers- Joe and Adrianna Abba- Johnston City, IL John Charlie Abba- Stiritz, IL 1 sister- Theresa Endrizzi- Arizona 1 nephew- Steve Abba- Springfield, IL 1 niece- Tina and Jim Kosco- Johnston City, IL Great niece- Rebekah Kosco- Johnston City, IL Great nephew- Zachary Kosco- Johnston City, IL Several nieces, nephews, and cousins in Italy Preceded by: Parents 3 brothers- Sam Abbott, John Abba, Louis Abba 1 sister- Margaret DiMercurio Angelo was a valued member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and the Knights of Columbus in Herrin. He volunteered many hours at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and St Marys School. Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00pm Sunday October 3, 2004 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with a Prayer Service at 6:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held Monday October 4, 2004 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Herrin with Monsignor Ken Schaefer officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, OLMC Renovation Fund, or OLMC Education Foundation.
