OBITUARY
Arlon Cleve Goodwyn

Arlon Cleve Goodwyn, 88 years old of Marion, Illinois, passed away on July 19, 2021 at the VA Medical Center, Marion, Illinois. He was born June 30, 1933, in Dora, Alabama. Arlon was the son of Gurley Goodwyn and Gaye (Dutton) Goodwyn.

Arlon served in the United States Army and was stationed in Fort Riley, Kansas. He later worked in sales for over 25 years at Ligget-Myers Tobacco Company. He married Rita (Tersinor) Goodwyn on March 14, 1953, in West Frankfort, Illinois. Together they shared 65 years of marriage before her passing on March 20, 2018.

Surviving are his daughter, Toni (Kevin) Logan of Brandon, Mississippi; his grandchildren, Katie (Joseph) Lutz of Augusta, Georgia; and Ben Logan of Brandon, Mississippi; and his great-granddaughter, Averie Lutz, along with other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by wife; his parents; his son, Don Goodwyn; and his sister, Alice (Goodwyn) Ritchason.

Memorial Services and inurnment will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 10:00 am until noon at Binkley-Ross Funeral Home located at 1702 W. Boulevard Street in Marion, Illinois. Private inurnment will take place after the service.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to the local Marion VA Community Living Center at 2401 West Main Street, Marion, Illinois, 62959.
