Marion - Arvin (Jack) Riddle, 81, of Marion died at 8:26 PM, Thursday. September 26, 2002 at his home.
Jack was born on April 8, 1921 in Cumberland Co., KY to Herbert C. & Wonnie (Pruit) Riddle. He married Helen Seymour on March 17, 1950 in Baltimore, MD. She survives of Marion.
Mr. Riddle was a US Army WWII veteran, serving with the 44th Tank Battalion Company C. He served in the South Pacific Theater and received 4 Bronze Stars, an American Defense Service Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars and a Good Conduct Ribbon. He retired as a chef and worked at the Holiday Inn, Illinois Caf, and the Elks Club in Herrin.
He was a member of the Herrin First Baptist Church, the Herrin Elks, and the VFW and American Legion Posts 1301.

His parents, two grandchildren; Lora Jean Boles & Joshua Duane Nyman, four brothers; Marvin, Carvin, Theodore, & John Riddle, and two sisters; Hattie Samson and Hettie Riddle preceded him in death.
The funeral services will be held at 1:00 p. m., Monday, September 30, 2002 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Paul Tirey will officiate. Burial will follow at the Masonic & Oddfellows Cemetery in Benton. The Herrin VFW & American Legion Posts #1301 will provide military rites at the graveside. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 p. m. Sunday, September 29, 2002 at the funeral home.
