Barbara Ann (Finney) Beasley

Barbara (nee Finney) Beasley, 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2024, with her two nieces Kathy and Debbie by her side.  Barbara was born on January 4, 1938, in Herrin, Illinois, the daughter of James and Lydia (nee Trout) Finney.

Barbara attended Kaskaskia College where she earned her degree to become a LPN.  She worked as a nurse for over 15 years, retiring from the Hospice of Southern Illinois.  She also worked in the gift shop at Hurricane Creek Assisted Living for a short time.  She enjoyed flower gardening and playing Pinochle with family and friends.

She married Jerry D. Beasley on July 2, 1959. Together they celebrated 39 years of marriage until his passing on December 9, 1998.

She is survived by her sons David (Caroline) Beasley, Daniel (Anne) Beasley, and Michael (Karen) Beasley; her grandchildren Andrew, Caitlin, Madeleine, Eliana, Kyriana, Claire, Samuel, Christina, Sean and Ryan; her great-grandchildren Fiona, Caden, Braden, Owen and Connor, along with other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Jerry and her ten brothers and sisters.

Binkley-Ross Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Per her wishes, graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 11:30 A.M. in Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery shortly before 11:30.

In lieu of flowers the family requests with gratitude that memorial donations be directed to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the service.
