Betty Lorraine (Blessman) Nall

Betty L. Nall, 95 of Marion, Illinois passed away on October 5, 2022, at Herrin Hospital.  Betty was born in Bath, Illinois on April 18, 1927, the daughter of Hubert and Alice Blessman.  She grew up on the family farm, sharing a home with her parents, her brother, her uncle and his wife, and three cousins.  She worked right along with the boys doing daily farm chores and taking care of the animals, though she wasn’t even five foot tall.  Those experiences helped shaper her into the woman she became.  She left the farm after high school graduation to work as a bookkeeper in Peoria.  She later settled in Marion, Illinois where she was a loving mother to her children, and she also worked part time at General Telephone as a coin counter.  Upon retirement, she spent 25 years in Florida but later returned back to Marion, to be close to her family.  She was kind, outgoing and made friends easily.  She enjoyed attending the Marion Senior Citizens Center regularly.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and great-great grandmother.  Betty also enjoyed spending time on the Lake of Egypt making wonderful memories with family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, James Blessman.

She is survived by her son, Terry (Valerie) Nall; her daughter, Connie (Roger) High; her grandson, Shawn (Eve) Nall; her granddaughter, Tara (Mike) Vickery; her grandson, Ryan (Laura) High; ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Karen (Steve) Becker, along with other family and special friends.
