Blakely Mae Brown

We are immensely saddened to announce that our daughter passed away after being diagnosed at birth with Mucolipidosis II.  Blakely Mae Brown was born on May 5, 2020.  She was a gifted, bright, and unique soul that left us too soon on October 25, 2022.  Our family mourns her passing greatly but seeing the positive impact she has made on us, and others has filled our hearts with joy.

Blakely Brown was kind-hearted, loving, and genuine.  She enjoyed car rides, bath time, cuddle time, spending time with mommy and daddy, meeting new people and making everyone around her smile.  She was absolutely in love with monk-monk, her family, and her puppy dogs.  Blakely had a huge group of friends and family who loved her unconditionally, including parents, Lauryn and Matt Brown; sister, Parker Brown; grandparents, Ruth and Melvin Brown, and Lana and Bart Kievit; great-grand parents, Brenda and Johnny Richmond and Nikki and Bill Staley; aunts and uncles, Brenyn Kievit and Kyle Hughes, Meggan and Steven Sanders, Melissa and Tim Courter; great aunt and uncle Laura and John Amenn; cousins, Jaycee Perez, Laney and Kaylyn Courter, Jayce, Elijah, and Weston Sanders, and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

There will be a time for family and friends to gather on Friday, October 28, 2022, from 4:30- 6:30 pm at Southern Illinois Worship Center. A celebration of life service will begin at 6:30 pm, with Pastor Jason McKinnies, officiating. We are asking that anyone attending wear purple to support ML II, or any bright color, to celebrate her life.
