Marion

Bonnie (Cagle) Davis, aged 81 years, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Parkway Manor in Marion, Illinois, with her children at her side.

Bonnie was born May 21, 1943, in Albany, California, to Elmer and Goldie (Weaver) Cagle.  She married Ronald Gene Davis on January 9, 1961, in Marion, Illinois.  They were married for 47 years before Ronald passed away in 2008.

Bonnie was very outgoing, and she never met a stranger.  She worked as a bookkeeper at Goreville State Bank (later Regions Bank) in Goreville for over twenty years. Bonnie was a very avid reader, and she was also a creative person who enjoyed drawing and painting, as well as making flower arrangements, homemade cards, and jewelry.  She also was an avid bird watcher, and she loved taking long drives and traveling to new places.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and four brothers and three sisters-in-law: Chuck (Willetta), Jim (Connie), Bill and Bobby (Mercy) Cagle, as well as brother-in-law Charles Hopper.

She is survived by her son Chris (Kelly) Davis of Goreville; daughter Lori (John) McNeal of Du Quoin, granddaughter Camille Davis, grandson Ian Davis, sister Patricia Hopper, sister-in-law Lea Ann Cagle and many nephews and nieces.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Parkway Manor for their compassionate care and support during Bonnie's stay.  Their kindness and dedication made a meaningful difference in her final months. We are especially thankful to the memory care staff for their thoughtful, attentive care and the dignity and respect shown to Bonnie.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Blue Funeral Home under the direction of Binkley-Ross. There will be a private graveside service.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Spina Bifida Association, 2000 Duke Street, Suite 300, Alexandria, Virginia 22314.
