OBITUARY

Brenda Kay Stevenson-Crain, 73, of Marion, IL passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at her residence. Brenda was born on November 1, 1947, to the unite of Clyde (Arkie) and Vivian (Boatright) Stevenson.

Brenda was a graduate of Marion High School class of 1965. She married Danny Ray Carner from Johnston City, IL, together they moved to Joliet, IL and she worked in the banking industry. They had one daughter, Dana Michelle Carner-Taylor. They moved back to Johnston City, IL and at that time their marriage dissolved.

Through her 20s and 30s she worked at Mack's Super Foods, as the payroll and accounting manager. In her late 30s early 40s she was employed at Glen's Fine Foods, where she was again the payroll and hiring and accounting manager.

She married Jack West in the mid – 1970s, together they were high school sweethearts and reunited in her 30s. That marriage later dissolved in 1989.

She was also an independent life insurance agent, where she held an Illinois insurance producer's license. She was an avid elk hunter.

She married Jack Crain in 1989, together they enjoyed may trips to Colorado, where they built a cabin in the woods. They also enjoyed living at the Marion Country Club until his death in 1998.

She finally found her forever soulmate, Louie "Bud" Grammer, which she said she would be in forever eternity with him, unfortunately he passed in 2003.

Brenda poured her soul into being a caregiver and companion for Robert Benak, together they became homeowners of many properties, enjoyed the Marion Senior Citizen Group and the lunches and monthly get -togethers.

Brenda enjoyed family dinners, birthday parties, cook outs, and getting her daughter started on antiques, vintage, and collectibles. Together they bought estates, traveled to many sales, staying days at a time in many states. She became a member of the Bippity Boppity Auction Page on Facebook, enjoyed auctions at Bud's Auction Barn, and helping with set ups at the gatherings held by Gail Blue.

Her greatest accomplishment as she said, was her daughter, Dana. Being her mother was her proudest achievement. She loved her grandchildren and those beautiful great grandchildren.

She is survived by her only daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Richard Taylor; her grandchildren, Dustyn (Misty) Taylor; Autumn Taylor-Pierce; her great grandchildren, Dylan Taylor, Laynie Taylor, Anden Pierce, and Nolen Pierce; her companion, Bob Benak; her friend, George Cooper; her aunt, Joy Boatright; her beloved pet, Cocoa Chanel; along with many cousins and several friends.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Vivian Maxine (Boatright) Stevenson; her father, Clyde I. Stevenson; her husband, Jack Crain; her companion, Louie "Bud" Grammer; her aunt, Lillian (Boatright) Moore; her uncles, Jimmy and Jack Boatright; her husband, Danny Ray Carner; and her beloved pet, Libby.

A time of visitation for family and friends is planned for Tuesday, October 12, 2021, from 10:00AM -12:00 PM. Funeral Services will begin at noon, with Pastor John Burnett officiating. All services will be held at Binkley-Ross Funeral Home located at 1702 W. Boulevard Street in Marion, IL. Interment will follow in Oddfellows Cemetery in Marion. She will be laid to rest next to her mother and father and her TRUE LOVE Louie "Bud" Grammer.

Brenda was known for her youthful appearance, she never aged, her face outlived her body. The Fountain of Youth was her best feature. Her personality was a piece of heaven. Life for those that knew her will never be the same.
