CHARLES "CHUCK" MARIO CHIODINI
HERRIN-Charles "Chuck" Mario Chiodini, 75, of Manhattan Beach, California and a former Herrin resident passed away peacefully at 7:30 P.M., Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at the Torrence Memorial Hospital in Torrence, California.
Chuck was born October 23, 1927 in Herrin to David & Antonietta (Restelli) Chiodini. He married Barbara (Lawrence) Chiodini on June 4, 1955 at Manhatten Beach, California. She survives.
Chuck was a 1945 graduate of Herrin High School and also attended University of Illinois. He served in the United States Air Corps. He relocated to Manhatten Beach to pursue a career in Computer Programming. After 28 years of service, Chuck retied from Systems Development Corporation as Groups Manager of Software development in 1985.
Chuck had a passion for his family, gardening and anything Italian. He was devoted to serving American Martyrs Church in Manhatten Beach, ushering at early morning masses for over 40 years. He was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus for 59 years. He was always willing to lend a hand and was famous for serving lemonade at the local fairs.

Son & Daughter in Law: Anthony Chiodini & wife Heidi of Laguna Niguel, CA.
Son & Daughter in Law: Christopher Chiodini & wife Lori of Riverside, CA.
Son: Michael Chiodini of Placerville, CA.
Son & Daughter in Law: Steven Chiodini & wife Joelle of Ashburn, VA.
Daughter: Susan Dillon of Manhatten Beach, CA.
14 Grandchildren
Sister: Mary Ann & husband Lou Lutostanski of Highland, IL.
Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and 3 sister in laws.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ambrose Chiodini.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 1, 2003 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin with Monsignor Ken Schaefer officiating. Burial will follow at San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin.
Visitation will be from 9:00 - 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 1, 2003 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home
