Darles B (Kelly) Jenkins

Darles B. Jenkins, 80, of Marion, passed away at 7:15 a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2022, at home surrounded by her children.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at the Grange Hall Freewill Baptist Church, located at 9950 Grassy Road, Marion.  Funeral Services will be held immediately following with Rev. Kevin McNeely officiating.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Freedom Cemetery.  Envelopes are available at the church or may be sent care of Binkley-Ross Funeral Home, 1702 W. Boulevard Street, Marion, IL 62959.

Mrs. Jenkins was born July 6, 1941, in Williamson County to Carol and Maxine (Pemberton) Kelly. She married William R. (Bill) Jenkins on June 25, 1960, at Freedom Church in Marion. Together they shared 46 years of marriage until his passing in July of 2006.

Survivors include her son Darren Jenkins and wife Cynthia of Glen Carbon, her daughter Stacey Bleyer and husband Joseph of Marion, her daughter Twyla Holmes (Scott Barringer) of Marion; her grandchildren, Jacob and Samantha Jenkins of Eureka, MO, Ben and Katie Conkling of Collinsville, IL, Michael Bleyer of Marion, Trey Holmes of Anna,  and Clayton Holmes of Marion;  her great-grandchildren Bailey Conkling and Josie Jenkins ; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill Kelly and his wife Lynn of St. Louis, Darrel Kelly and his wife Pam of Marion; sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna Sims and her husband Johnny Ray of Marion, Carolyn Gray of Pittsburg, along with several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and nephew Kelley Sims.

Mrs. Jenkins retired from Unit II School District after 26 years of service. She loved to travel, and received great joy from playing Canasta with her weekly card group.  She loved to share her homemade sourdough bread in what her kids called her bread ministry.  She loved laughing, playing games, and spending time with her family.  We are so grateful she was ours and she will be greatly missed.
