Dianne Parks

Irma Dianne Parks of Marion passed away February 5, 2025, in Herrin, Illinois.  Dianne was born in Herrin, Illinois on February 12, 1943, to the late Robert Leon Parks and Irma Grace (Odum) Parks.  Dianne was a graduate of Marion High School.  After graduation she attended SIU.  She found her passion working with numbers as a bookkeeper for several businesses in the Marion area.  She worked for Bill Mueller CPA for many years and then finally retired from Pepsi after 25 years.

Dianne never met a stranger.  She loved working in the nursery for 16 years and taking care of her nursery babies for many years at Aldersgate Church.  She was a member of Aldersgate for 70 years.  Dianne had many interests including watching golf, motorcycle racing and visiting with friends.  Later in life her visits were mostly done by talking and laughing for hours on the phone.  She always had a smile and a story to tell. She was a prayer warrior \for many of her friends and family.  Dianne was a collector of dolls and teddy bears.

Dianne always said Jesus is first in her life, friends and family second.  She felt she had a blessed life and was always surrounded by love and prayers.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Binkley-Ross Funeral Home on Monday, February 10, 2025.  Visitation will be held from 9-11.  Funeral service will be held at 11 am with Jim Slone and LeRoy Waggoner officiating.  Interment will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion.

Memorials may be made to Galilean Children’s Home in Lexington, Kentucky.

Dianne wanted everyone to know they should laugh at her funeral.  We all know she loved to laugh, love, and pray.
