Herrin- Dolores Agin Young, 70, of Herrin, passed away at 3:57 AM, Monday, June 7, 2004 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Dolores was born on September 25, 1933 in Harrisburg, the daughter of the late William Tommas & Madgline (Rice) Agin. She married her first husband, Herman Reynolds, in 1951. She married Leonard Earl Young on September 3, 1966 in Herrin. He preceded her in death on April 13, 2000.
Dolores was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. She worked a variety of jobs in recent years, including The Quilting Cottage and as a caregiver for the elderly. Dolores was always on the move; serving on the welcoming commission and was an avid quilter. She was also a member of the Southern Illinois Quilt Guild.
She enjoyed spending her free time with her close friend Judi Laughlin. Together they shared dreams, schemes and enough adventures for two lifetimes. She also enjoyed hanging out with her sister in law; Lorraine Berra and had many front porch talks with Benny and Della Grimes, but her true passion was spending time and teaching life lessons to her great grandson, Ethan Pullum, and was thrilled by her new great grandson, Ruben Pullum.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, one brother; Charles Agin. And one sister; Eva Marie Buchanan.
The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, June 11, 2004 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. Monsignor Ken Schaefer will officiate. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Herrin. Visitation will be from 6-9:00 PM, Thursday, June 10, 2004 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
