Donald Hosie Taylor

Donald Taylor, age 95, formerly of Marion, Illinois passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024. He was born on February 2, 1929, in Springfield, Missouri to George and Abbie Taylor. He was a Navy Veteran and a retired Waukegan Firefighter. Don worked for Lake County Movers/Bekins in Waukegan, Illinois. He loved camping and fishing along Wolf River in Wisconsin.

He is survived by his children; Denise (Craig) Krohn of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, Gary Taylor of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, Dale Taylor of Berkeley, Illinois, Lois (Keith) Andrews of Henderson, Nevada, Glen (Laura) Taylor of Marion, Illinois and Teresa Jones of Waukegan, Illinois; stepson James Jackson of Debary, Florida; 21 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceded in death by spouses Cora and Dorothy, and his daughter Shirley.

Binkley-Ross Funeral Home has been entrusted to assist the family with service arrangements.  Services will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the American Legion Post 147 located at 11720 Longstreet, Marion, Illinois. Friends and family are invited to begin gathering at 11:00 A.M. Memorial services will begin at 12:00 P.M. with full military honors.
