Donna (Geuvens) Mcmahan

Donna McMahan, 72, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, went to be with the Lord on October 11, 2024. She was born on August 27, 1952, in Peoria, Illinois, to the late Frances and Henry Geuvens. Donna married Ronald McMahan on July 1, 1969, together they shared 55 years of marriage.

Donna was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her time with family. She enjoyed playing bingo, reading, spending time outdoors, and was passionate about flowers and watching hummingbirds. Above all, her greatest joy came from being with her family.

She is survived by her husband Ronald McMahan; three brothers, Mike Geuvens (Connie), Pat Geuvens and Tim Geuvens; her sister, Mary Pilon; three daughters, Sheila Burge (Chris), Roni Brown (Charlie) and Leslie Hollenkamp (John); eight grandchildren, Tiffany Johnson (Caleb), Colton Burge (Mir), Tabitha Taft (Blake), Connor Burge (Lyndsey), Ashley Hogue, Austin Hogue; Emma Brown and Blake Smolley (Ashley); and 11 great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

She was greeted in heaven by both sets of parents; two brothers; and a great-grandson.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the American Legion in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Friends and family are invited to bring a covered dish as we gather to honor and remember Donna.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you spend time with loved ones, in honor of Donna’s memory.
