Marion Dorothy Baysinger, 88 of Marion, passed away at 7:30 AM on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at her daughter’s home with family by her side. Graveside services for Dorothy will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Shara Robinson officiating in Freedom Cemetery. Dorothy was born Tuesday, April 15, 1924 in Marion to Jake D. & Hilda (Nelson) Rush. She married Kirby Baysinger, Jr. on Sunday, February 23, 1941 in Charleston, MO; he preceded her on Saturday, September 30, 1989 after 48 years of marriage. She is survived by her children, Larry & Phyllis Baysinger and Sherry & Mike Whiting; grandchildren, Chris & Jennifer Whiting, Bradley Whiting, Michael Baysinger and Michelle Baxter; great-grandchildren, Joseph Baxter, Dylan Baxter, Marissa Baysinger, Jared Baysinger, Adriana Baysinger, Callie Whiting and Cooper Whiting; sister, Betty Lou Jones and sister-in-law, Doris Rush. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parent, Jake & Hilda; husband, Kirby and brothers, Jake H. Rush & William Rush. Mrs. Baysinger was a retired beauty operator, but had worked alongside her husband in local “DX” service stations. Dorothy attended the Marion 1st Church of God. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and especially doting on her many grandchildren.
