Herrin-Edward E.C. Russell-85, died 2:15 A.M., Sunday, June 27, 2004 at Herrin Hospital.
E.C. was born July 10, 1918 at Harrisburg, Illinois to Edward Clyde & Mabel May (Rogers) Russell. He married Melba Blessing on May 2, 1942 at Centralia, Illinois.
He was retired, having owned and operated along with his wife Russells Texico in Herrin since 1948. He was of Presbyterian faith. He was a veteran of WW II serving with United States Army. He was member of Herrin American Legion & VFW Posts. He also was a former member of the Herrin Elks. He enjoyed playing & coaching baseball, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed yard work and especially working at his sons yard.

Sister: Dorthy Laurell of Bakesfield, CA.
Also survived by several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Basil, Clifford & Jerry Russell and two sister, Mary & Beverly Russell.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Friday, July 2, 2004 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Whitfield officiating.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Herrin American Legion & VFW Posts.
Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home.
