Ethel Mary Burress, 93, died Monday, December 29, 2003 at 10:30 A.M. in Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Ethel was born August 29, 1910 to William Julius and Lillie (Faulkner) Sharp in Simpson, Illinois. She married Rufus Belford on July 23, 1946 in Marion and he preceded her in death on December 08, 1973, she later married Jesse Burress on February 02, 1984 and he survives in Marion.
Ethel taught for the Marion Rural Schools where she taught in many one-room schools. She was a member and former Sunday School Teacher at the Church of God, longtime member Welcome Sewing Club in Marion.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at 3:30 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Arthur Joplin officiating. Burial will follow in Freedom Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:30 P.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
