Floriene Jeralds

Herrin- Floriene Jeralds, 82, of Herrin, died at 9:30 AM, Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at her home with her family. Floriene was born on Christmas Eve 1921 in Hopkinsville, KY to George Elgin & Maude ( Stevens) Davis. Mrs. Jeralds retired from Charles Todd in Herrin where she worked as a presser. She formerly worked at Allens, Smoller Bros, The Glove Factory, and American Can. She was an adventurous young lady. At age 18, she and a friend hitchhiked to Chicago to work at American Magnetics. Floriene was of protestant faith. She enjoyed working outside, especially in her flower garden. She had a wonderful sense of humor and her grandchildren were her life. SURVIVORS: Daughter & son in law- Diana & Gary Wade- Herrin Son & daughter in law- Tom & Vicki Jeralds- Orland Hills Six grandchildren: Cathy Wade- Herrin Phillip Wade- Herrin Scott Jeralds- Peotone Bradley Jeralds- Portage, IN Keith Jeralds- Herrin Kevin Jeralds- Herrin Six Great Grandchildren: Chad Jeralds- New Lenox, IL Terry Dustin Jeralds- Flora, IL Kassie Jeralds- Herrin Laci Jo Jeralds- Herrin Jalen Jeralds- Herrin Ashley Cherry- Herrin Brother- Joseph Davis- Cambria Sister & bro in law- Mary & Art Custardo- Naples, FL Many nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews She was preceded in death by her parents & one son; Terry Jeralds. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 19, 2004 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Ralph Brandon will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
