Marion- Frank Hendrick, Jr., 92, of Marion, passed away at 10:45 AM, Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Harrisburg Medical Center.
Frank was born on December 15, 1918 in St. David, IL in Fulton County to Frank & Mary (Butorac) Hendrick, Sr. He married Pearl Tanner on September 3, 1937 in McCracken County, KY. She preceded him in death on April 30, 2001.
Frank was a WWII Army veteran who served his country bravely while stationed in the Philippines. Once honorably discharged he worked several years in the coal mines before eventually retiring as a Certified Maintenance personnel at Olin Matheson in the Ordill area.
He attended the Abundant Life Assemblies of God in Marion and was a life member of the Marion Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed fishing at various lakes and ponds throughout the area and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was an experienced craftsman and was always working with wood or building projects like birdhouses.

Sister- Eva Tokarzewski of Michigan
Brother- Wencil Hendrick and wife Christine of Michigan
Several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter- Judy Stephenson, brother- Ralph Hendrick, half-brothers- Dean Snoddy Jr and Virgil Snoddy, half-sister- Donna Armstrong and one brother and one sister in infancy.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Rev. Roger Roper will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Military rites will be performed at graveside by the Marion VFW and American Legion Posts with assistance provided by the Illinois National Guard. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 PM, Monday, November 21, 2011 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.
