Grancy “P.O.G. Kyle Davis, “Poor O Grancy”, 76, died Friday, April 18, 2025, in Marion, Illinois, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter.
Grancy was born on September 15, 1948, in Hardin, Kentucky, to Pete Davis and Florine Edmonds Davis. At a young age, Grancy was drafted into the Vietnam War, U.S. military services.
Grancy is survived by his children: Sam (Beth) Davis of Tamms, Illinois, Farel Holder of Jackson, Missouri, Luann (Clay) Riley, of Jackson, Missouri, Jessica Drake of Marion, Illinois, Michael (Stephanie) Davis of Freeman Spur, Illinois, and Marti (Zane) Withers of Bon Aqua, Tennessee. Grancy leaves behind his adored grandchildren and great grandchildren, who were the absolute lights of his life, his sister, Della Freeman of Wickliffe, Kentucky, and many nieces and nephews that he loved and cherished very much. Grancy was preceded in death by his father, Pete Davis, his beloved mother that he talked about all the time, Floriene Edmonds Davis; Sisters, Yvonne Edmonds, Carol Edmonds, Joyce Bigham, Chris Upshaw; and Brothers, Edward “Eddie” Davis, Ronald “Ronnie Davis, and Mike Davis. A private graveside ceremony for the family will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, a cause that was close to Grancy’s heart.
Grancy will be remembered for his love, kindness, and laughter. He never met a stranger. As Grancy would always say “it ain’t no big deal”! He will be truly missed by many, but we all know he has been looking forward to seeing his mom and siblings again. I am sure he has a lot to tell them.
