H. Tom Berry

H. “Tom” Berry, 69 of Marion, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on December 5, 2022. Tom was born on November 17, 1953, the son of Jesse and Florence Berry.

He served his grateful nation as a member of the United States Navy.  He also worked as a truck driver hauling freight for Cox Trucking. He was proud of his military service and of his Blackfoot Native American heritage. He was united in marriage to Norma Jean Kleckler on April 24, 1976.  Together they shared 47 years of marriage. Tom enjoyed tournament fishing and riding his Harley Davidson 2001 FXDL motorcycle. He also enjoyed watching NCIS on television and playing pool.

Surviving are his parents, Jesse and Florence; his wife, Norma Jean Berry; his son, Steven (Sherri) Woodward; his daughter Laurie Rich; his grandson Aydin Logsdon; his brother, Mike (Teri) Berry; his sisters, Patty (Jack) Armstrong, Pam (Steve) Harris, Mary (Joe Uribe) Weber, and JoAnn (Jeff) Golbow; his nieces and nephews, Jesse (Shelly) Armstrong, Philena (Brad) Hope, Michelle (Christopher) Compton, Danielle (Jon) Kluge, Jessica Marie Berry, and Brittanie Jean Berry; his cousins, Denny and Kaye Berry, along with numerous great nieces and great nephews.

Tom is preceded in death by his daughters, Jamie Lynn Berry and Dawn Elizabeth Berry; his son, William Thomas Berry and his great nephew, Brent Michael Compton.

Services will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022, from 2-4 PM at Binkley-Ross Funeral Home located at 1702 West Boulevard Street in Marion. The family will also gather at the Spillertown Community Center located at 102 Community Drive in Marion, to honor him with a Celebration of Life immediately following the services. The family requests those in attendance to wear comfortable and casual attire.
