H. Geniene (Mull) Hanson

Helen Geniene (Anastasia) Hanson, 61 years old of Anna, Illinois passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 10, 2023. Geniene was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on July 17, 1962, the daughter of Gene and Peggy Mull.

Geniene married Stanley Hanson on April 23, 2004.  Together they shared 19 years of marriage.  She worked in hospitality services as a bartender for many years.

Geniene is survived by her husband Stan; her brother Jeff Mull; her stepdaughters Allison (Seth) Tanner, Sarah (Aaron) VanVooren, Kimberly (Chad) McCague, Julie (Glen) Aulgur, her stepsons Kyle (Lisa) Hanson, Darren (Kate) Brunner; her nephew Ean Mull; several grandchildren and many friends and extended family.

She is preceded in death by her parents Gene and Peggy.

Binkley-Ross Funeral Home has been entrusted to assist the family with arrangements.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Ebenezer Hall Cemetery located at 650 Hall Church Road, Makanda, Illinois 62912, with Pastor Glen Aulgur officiating.  If you are planning to attend the graveside service, we ask that you arrive at the cemetery around 10:45 A.M.

In lieu of customary remembrances the family requests with gratitude that memorial donations be directed to PAWS. (Pets Are Worth Saving). Envelopes will be available at the cemetery, or you can mail your donation to Binkley-Ross Funeral Home 1702 West Boulevard Street Marion, Illinois 62959 to be forwarded to the organization.
