Jackie R. Wells

Jackie R. Wells, 71, died Sunday, March 21, 2004 at 1:35 P.M. in Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Jackie was born October 03, 1932 to Haskell Ray and Flara (Walker) Wells in Williamson County. He married Rita Ann Brookhouse on December 18, 1954 in Marion and she preceded him in death on June 18, 1991. Jackie was a retired Assistant Fire Chief for the Marion Fire Department. He was a member of the Marion Masonic Lodge #89 AF&AM, he was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Consistery of Belleville. Jackie was a member of the 1st Baptist Church and the Eagles. Survivors include: Mother Flara Wells of Marion Daughter and Son-in-law Jacquelin & Cliff Gower of Marion Two Grandchildren Gabriel and Zachary Gower of Marion Close Friend Delores Deaton of Marion Aunt Madge Smith of Pittsburg Several Cousins Preceded by Father and wife, Rita Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 24th at 11:00 A.M. in Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Dr. Joey Brent officiating. Burial in Maplewood Cemetery will follow. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Masonic Services will be performed at 7:00 P.M. by the Fellowship Lodge #89 AF&AM of Marion. For those who prefer memorials may be made to the Masonic Childrens Home at Murphysboro or Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
