Jan R. Whorton

Jan R. Whorton, 72 years old of Marion, Illinois passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021 in O'Fallon, Illinois. Jan was born to Charles and Alline (Hutson) Ringer on May 6, 1949 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Jan was a graduate of Dexter Missouri High School and later attended Stephens College for girls. She worked for the Department of Social Services in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, specifically in the child support enforcement department. Jan had a soft spot for children and would always be an advocate and voice for them.

Jan met Larry D. Whorton and they married on May 27, 1983. They recently celebrated 38 years together. Jan and Larry enjoyed relaxing at Kentucky Lake, taking boat rides and fishing together. Jan loved to cook and garden and look around on her computer. She loved her two children, Julie and Andy and was always very active in both of their lives. She adored her seven grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Whorton; her daughter Julie Schoeninger (Dirk) Massie; her son, Andy (Kacey) Whorton; her seven grandchildren, Carson, Brock and Olivia Massie; Brady, Jase, Easton, and Riley Whorton; and her two adorable fur-babies, Lilly and Ruby.

A memorial graveside service is planned for Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Bloomfield Veteran's Cemetery, located at 17357 Stars and Stripes Way, Bloomfield, Missouri, 63825, with Reverend Roy Sherfield officiating.
