Jerry D. Kirk

HERRIN- Jerry D. Kirk, age 65, of Herrin, passed away at 7:40pm on Wednesday April 5, 2006 at Herrin Hospital. Jerry was born in Williamson County on June 22, 1940 to Lowell Woodrow and Helen (Sanders) Kirk. He married Carolyn A. Propes in Herrin on August 20, 1966. She survives in Herrin. Mr. Kirk was retired from the Menard Penitentiary, where he worked for 26 years. He had also worked at the Ordill Factory in Marion. Survivors include- Wife- Carolyn Kirk- Herrin, IL Brother and Sister-in-Law- Dennis and Yvonne Kirk- Johnston City, IL Sister and Brother-in-Law- Ludene and Lee Teal- Peoria, IL Niece- Cheryl Pelker- DuQuoin, IL Nephew- Brian Kirk- Johnston City, IL Dear Friends- Oley and Jackie Stanley- West Frankfort, IL Several Dear Family members and friends Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and daughter- Cindy Sue Kirk. Funeral services for Mr. Kirk will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday April 8, 2006 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with a eulogy given by Mr. Bill Gentry. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm until the time of the service on Saturday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home.
