Karen (Bond) Broeking

Karen Broeking, 65 years old, of Marion, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Herrin Hospital.  Karen was born on March 12, 1958, the daughter of Dale and Sue Bond.

Karen was a 1976 graduate of Marion High School. She married Ronald “Ron” Broeking on September 21, 1985. Together they shared 38 years of marriage. Karen was retired from Marion Abstract Company.

She is survived by her husband, Ron; her brother Steve (Rhoda) Bond of Lake of Egypt; her sister Jody Bond Fuson of Benton; her brother-in-law Darrell (Angie) Broeking; her sister-in-law Donna Bain of Texas; her sister-in-law Linda (Fred) Fietsam; along with several nieces and nephews and many close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Dale and Sue Bond; her father-in-law Donald Broeking; her mother-in-law Luetta Broeking; her brothers-in-law Bob Fuson and Keith Bain.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Binkley-Ross Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Rosehill Cemetery in Marion. You are invited to meet at the graveside shortly before 11:00.  In lieu of customary remembrances the family requests with gratitude that memorial donations be made to Zion United Church of Christ, American Cancer Society, or Third Baptist Church of Marion in Karen’s memory.
