Kenneth A. Graves

Marion Kenneth A. Graves, 76, died Friday, February 18, 2005 at 3:15 A.M. at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Kenneth was born May 09, 1928 in rural Williamson County to McKinley & Lula (Angel) Graves. He married Louise Robertson on December 28, 1957 and she survives in Marion. Kenneth served in the Army in the 341st Military Police Company during the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Southern Illinois University of Carbondale with a B.S., Masters, and Specialist degrees in education. He was a retired teacher and school administrator in Southern Illinois. After retirement he worked at Southern Illinois University as a civil service employee. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Marion. Kenneth is survived by: His Wife Louise of Marion Daughter Sharon Kay & William Benton of Mt. Zion Two Grandchildren: Laura & Alex Benton of Mt. Zion Five Brothers: Charles & Imogene Graves of Crab Orchard James Graves of Herculaneum, MO Sam & Audrey Graves of Lake of Egypt John Graves of Marion Leroy Graves of Lyons Sister Velma & Mel Lynn of Marion Several nieces and nephews Preceded by: Parents and sister-in-law Barbara Graves Funeral services will be Monday, February 21, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Dr. Bob Wagner officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 P.M. 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
