Leland R. Pemberton

Marion Leland R. Pemberton, 95, died Wednesday, February 09, 2005 at 12:45 A.M. in Parkway Manor in Marion. Leland was born January 03, 1910 to William A. & Mabel (Marshall) Pemberton in Flora, Illinois. He married Opal B. Smith on May 20, 1937 in Murphysboro and together they shared 60 years of marriage. Leland was the former owner of P.S. Grain Company. He attended 3rd Baptist Church and was a 60 year life-member of the Masonic Fellowship Lodge #89 A.F. A.M. of Marion. Leland is survived by: Two Daughters and their husbands; Lynda & Raymond Waldron of Marion Janis & Leon Billingsley of Marion Three Grandchildren: Leslie Waldron of Marion Heath & Monica Billingsley of St. Louis, MO Hayley & Robert Schaberg of Tulsa, OK Three Great Grandchildren: Andrew Finger of Marion Kyler Schaberg of Tusla, OK Kaden Schaberg of Tulsa, OK One Brother Eldon Pemberton of Lincoln, Nebraska Two Sisters: Betty Stowers of Merritt Island, Florida Maxine Kelley of Marion Preceded by: Parents, Wife Opal, Two Brothers Charles Pemberton, William Pemberton and One Sister Reba Hope. Funeral services will be Friday, February 11, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Harl Cockrum officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home. For those who prefer memorials may be given to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
