Leroy L Brueckman

Leroy L. Brueckman, 84, of Herrin, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 6:55 am at Carrier Mills Nursing Home.

Leroy was born April 8, 1936 in Chicago the son of Leonard and Edith (Weisse) Brueckman.  He married Joan Fleebe on April 12, 1958 in Chicago and together they shared over 59 years of marriage until her death on August 17, 2017.

Leroy proudly answered the call to serve his country with service in the Army.  He was a printer, he loved flea markets and enjoyed coin collecting.

Survivors include his;

Son – Leonard Brueckman and wife Debbie of Marion

Daughter – Judy Hartung and husband Walter of Lockport

Five grandchildren

Four great grandchildren

Sister – Patsy Brueckman of Chicago

Preceded by his Parents, Wife, two brothers – Matt and Ronald Brueckman and sister – Beverly Randall

In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated and no local services will be held.  Leroy and Joan will be interred at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood at a later date.  Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
