Leslie “Les” Hodson, 77 passed away at 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at home in Pittsburg.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Jubilee Tabernacle Church located at 301 West Washington Street, Desoto, Illinois with Brother Danny Norman officiating. Burial will follow in Freedom Cemetery south of Marion. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home under the direction of Binkley-Ross.

Les was born on January 12, 1947, in Peoria, Illinois, the son of Melvin and Faye (Harris) Hodson. He worked for Pepsi Cola Mid America in Marion, Illinois for 26 years until he retired. He was a hard worker and never met a stranger. He was always there to help anybody in need no matter who it was with a smile on his face and candy in his hand. Les was of the Apostolic-Pentecostal faith.

Les is survived by his wife of 44 years, Pauline Hodson of Pittsburg, one daughter Regina Vickers of Equality, one son Jearl (Jacqui) Trammell of Murphysboro, and one sister Jeanette Adams of Marion. Grandchildren Derrick (Kara) Jarvis, Christian (Bill) VanOver, Brittany Day, Ashley (Ryan) Smelcer, Breanna (Cale) Trammell (Pruitt), Jonathon (Kelsey) Trammell, Chase (Ivy) Nutt, Cheyanne Scott, Blake Marshall, Sam Trammell, Marriah Trammell and many great grandchildren along with nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his baby brother, his father Melvin Hodson, his mother Faye Klutts, his daughter Shellie Marshall, his oldest brother Jerry Hodson.

In lieu of flowers the family requests with gratitude that memorial donation be made in his honor to Jubilee Tabernacle Church. Envelopes will be available at the service. Please visit www.mitchellhughesfh.com to leave online condolences.
