OBITUARY
Lindell Dean Emery, 69, passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021, at Barnes Jewish Hospital surrounded by his children and friends.
Lindell was born December 23,1952, in Scottsboro, IL, to Delbert Emery Jr. and Vita June Kent. Lindell was married to Andrea Delores Jones in Elizabethtown on November 22,1972.
Lindell worked for a couple of coal mines for a little over 30 years, retiring from Peabody Coal Company in 1998. He attended First Christian Church in Johnson City where he served as a Deacon since 2018. Lindell was a Mason. He enjoyed watching Cardinals baseball, playing softball in his younger years, going on cruises, and spending time with his grandchildren and friends.
Lindell is survived by his children, Hollie Denise Emery of Mt Vernon, IL and Jeffery Lynn Emery and wife Lisa of Marion, IL; his grandchildren Gayla, Andrew, Tyler, and Elijah Orrill of Mt. Vernon, IL; Madison and William Emery of Marion, IL.; his nieces and nephew Tina Emery Swanson (Randy), Chris Emery, and Heather Emery; his uncles, aunts, cousins, great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Vita June Emery; his wife Andrea Delores Emery; his brother, Ronald Emery; his father-in-law, Andrew Allen Jones; and his mother-in-law, Delores Ann Jones.
There will be a time of visitation held on Saturday, January 8, 2022, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Binkley-Ross Funeral Home. Memorial services will begin at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Steve Higgs officiating. Interment will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to the family to help with some of Lindell's final expenses. Binkley-Ross Funeral Home has been entrusted to assist the family with services, under the direction of Joni Binkley-Ross and Monte Blue. Memorials may be sent to the funeral home at 1702 W.
