Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home Marie Furlong-Obituary Herrin-Marie Furlong, 93, died 8:15 A.M., Wednesday, February 13, 2002 at Herrin Hospital. Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 16, 2002 at the Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Lee Lovett officiating. Burial will follow at the Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. on Friday, February 15, 2002 at the Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home. Mrs. Furlong was born December 13, 1908 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois to James Earl & Goldie (Trotter) Patterson. She married Everett Ferrell Furlong in June of 1938 in Marion, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 13, 1965. Mrs. Furlong was retired having worked at the Stylart Shoppe in Marion. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Herrin. She is survived by: One Daughter: Susan Barbaro & husband Pat of Marion Two Grandchildren: Mark Watson & wife Diane of Springfield, IL. Kelly Watson of Springfield, IL. Five Great Grandchildren: Thea, Drew & Gage Swales of Springfield Tyler & Reed Watson of Springfield One Sister: Midge Norris of Apopka, FL. Two Nieces: Carol Norris of Longwood, FL. Cindy Donaldson & husband Chuck of Lake Mary, FL. One Nephew: Danny Furlong & wife Kathleen of Farmington, MO. Several Great Nieces & Nephews survive.
