MARY BENDER-95 Herrin- Mary Bender, 95, of Herrin, IL passed away at 10:20 am on Friday October 8, 2004 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center of Herrin, IL. Mary was born on August 22, 1909 in Sheboygan, WI to Lithuanian parents, Joe Seurusaitis (Siaurusevicius) and Elizabeth (Skaudius). She married Aggard Bender on September 8, 1928 in Herrin. He preceded her in death on September 9, 1988. Survivors include: Daughter- Elaine and Lota Kirkman- Energy, IL 2 sons- Donald and Dolores Bender- Lake of Egypt, IL Richard Bender- Marion, IL Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren: Kimira and husband, Scott Benton & their children, Douglas, Krystina, Amber & Lindsay-Herrin. IL (Amber & her family, husband Reuss Bennett & children Samantha & Blake who represent the fifth generation, of Ashley, IL). Sherry Kirkman - Miami FL Randall Kirkman and wife Mary & their children, Tyler & Nicholas-St Louis, MO David Bender and wife Sue - Williamsburg, VA Donna and husband Ralph Evangelous and children Kaitlyn and Tyler- Willimington, NC 6 Nephews- Jim & Jill Bennett- Borrego Springs, CA Ray and Thelma Bennett- Flat Rock, MI Bill and Diane Sorukas- South Bend, IN Ron and Sandi Sorukas- South Bend, IN Roger Missavage- Herrin, IL Dennis Missavage (and son Marcus) Atlanta, GA 1 niece- Frances and Gene Liss- Park Ridge, IL 10 first cousins in Lithuania and one in Lemont, IL Preceded by: parents Husband Sister- Alba Missavage Brother- Vincent (Willie) Sorukas Mary was a member of the First Christian Church in Herrin. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00am on Monday October 11, 2004 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Funeral services will be held Monday October 11, 2004 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Rev Ron Henwood officiating.
