Michael Zimmerman, 59, of Marion, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024. He was born on April 14, 1965, in Sells, Arizona. He was soon adopted by his parents Elwyn Zimmerman and Carolyn (Vanderslice) Zee.
Michael was an avid motorcyclist and received his training as a mechanic in Phoenix AZ. He was employed by Black Diamond Harley Davidson and Road House Harley Davidson. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers and worked on the Ohio River for many years. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Southern Illinois. He rode with the ABATE group helping to post signs for motorcycle safety. Later he became a member of the Storm Riders MC. He passed away as a member of the Outlaws AOA in the Marion Chapter.
He loved animals and cared for his deceased mother's dog, Annabelle for many years. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Carla. He never married.
His siblings recall with fond memories, playing “Bear Trap” with their dad and also how when he was a small child, he used to ride on a rocking board and holler out “Hunga Singa Dinga!” They all still use the phrase to this day with a chuckle.
He is survived by his siblings Laura (Jerry) Phillips-Zee, Lisa Zee (Brian Quinn) and Daniel Zimmerman; his nieces and nephews Ara Aiba, Jacobey Phillips-Zee, Skylar (Brent) Elinburg, Audrey Phillips-Zee, David Phillips-Zee, Brianna (Angelo) Pastura, Matthew (Kristina) Zimmerman, and Tyler (Amanda) Zimmerman; and his beloved granddaughter Maya Isabelle.
