Pansy L. Oldani

Herrin- Pansy L. Oldani, 80, of Herrin, passed away at 5:43 PM, Saturday, September 25, 2004 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. She was born on January 7, 1924 in Herrin to Charles Denton & Mary (Ice) Griffin. She married Robert William Oldani on January 12, 1941 in Cape Girardeau, MO. They enjoyed spending their weekends dancing together at the Herrin Eagles, VFW, and the American Legion. Robert preceded her in death on March 8, 1991. Mrs. Oldani worked as a salesclerk for twenty years at Kays in Herrin. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Herrin. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing pinochle with her friends and baking. Her pies were the delight of the whole family. She was the linchpin of her family in all seasons. In her later years, she especially enjoyed short drives in the beautiful southern Illinois countryside. SURVIVORS: Son- Robert W. Oldani, Jr. and Jo Anna Rancilio Oldani- Scottsdale, AZ Brother- Wayne Griffin- Herrin Nieces & nephews: Jeff Griffin- Johnston City Donna Bonali- Marion Linda Cox- Mulkeytown Marsha Jane Conley- Elkville Robert Wick- Bloomington Sisters in law: Jennie Gammill- Herrin Louise Wilson- Herrin She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers; Charles B. & Donald E. Griffin & two sisters; Leatha C. Griffin & Gladys Eversman. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 30, 2004 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Lee Lovett & Rev. Don Cannon will officiate. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-9:00PM, Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at the funeral home.
