Patricia Broemmel died on October 29, 2024, at her home in Carbondale, Illinois. She was born October 6, 1932, at Bay City, Pope County Illinois, the third child and second daughter of Othel and Pina (Durfee) Faulkner. Her grandparents were George Samuel and Elizabeth (Greenwald) Faulkner, and James Franklin Durfee and Mary Etta (Choate) Durfee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, her brothers, Othel Muriel Faulkner, Billy Frank Faulkner, Dr. James David Faulkner and sister Phyllis Louise Evans. She was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary Alice Faulkner.
She is survived by her husband Stephen Broemmel, daughter Elisabeth Lemasters (Mike) of Murphysboro as well as granddaughters Adrienne Patricia Sworm of Myrphysboro, Illinois and Jordann Michelle Lemasters of Tucson, Arizona.
Mrs. Broemmel was a registered nurse, having received her professional education at the University of Kentucky and Vanderbilt University.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, The Society of the Descendants of Valley Forge as well as the Germanna Society.
It was her wish and instruction to be cremated. There will be no visitation, and interment will be at a later date at Independence Cemetery, located near the Rosebud community in Pope County, Illinois.
Memorials may be made to Daughters of the American Revolution, Daniel H. Brush Chapter, Carbondale, Illinois, Hospice of Southern Illinois or St. Francis Care of Murphysboro, Illinois.
Binkley-Ross Funeral Home located at 1702 W. Boulevard Street in Marion, Illinois was entrusted to assist the family with arrangements.
