Patricia Ann (Gasper) Feezor

November 3, 1938 — May 4, 2024

Marion

Patricia Ann Marie (Gasper) Feezor, 85, of Marion, Illinois passed away on May 4, 2024, surrounded by her family shortly after watching Mystic Dan cross the finish line during the Kentucky Derby. Pat was born on November 3, 1938, in St. Louis, Missouri, and was the daughter of John and Anna (Phillips) Gasper.  Pat’s mother Anna passed away when Pat was just three years old, and she went to stay with relatives until her father united in marriage to Lottie Liszewski, who raised her as her own.

Pat grew up in Fulton, Missouri and was the prom queen and a graduate of Fulton High School Class of 1956.  Patricia went on to study at William Woods University Women’s College.  She had a busy working career at TWA in St. Louis and later transferring to another location in California.  She owned and operated Skelly’s Truck Stop in Marion, Illinois until she sold it in 1980.  At that time, she started Kitchen Cupboard.  After the tornado hit Marion in 1982, she was hired back to help rebuild the old truck stop which then became known as The Refuge Restaurant.  She later went on to work as an administrative assistant for her husband at People’s Bank. In 1988, she built the Handy Pantry gas station and convenience store.  She also held employment at Vernell’s Interstate Services assisting with scheduling trucks and bookkeeping.

On August 23, 1980, Pat married Gerald Feezor. They shared almost 42 years of marriage until his passing on March 15, 2022. Together they shared a lot of life’s greatest treasures.  They shared in the joys of raising their children, and time spent with their grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  They enjoyed traveling in their RV, and an amazing Alaskan cruise.  Pat always encouraged and supported her husband and children in the raising of their Appaloosa horses. Pat is remembered for always being kind to every person and animal she met, her willingness to consistently help at Graphic Impressions and gathering the family for Sunday dinners.

Pat is survived by her children Jeff (Kistin) Lober, Mike (Kathy) Lober, Julie Feezor Graul, Sarah Feezor Gray, Gerald Lane Feezor; Foster daughter, Janet (Jimmy) Dawes; her grandchildren Amanda, Aaron, Kelsey and Kenady, and Laura, Savannah, Madaline, Emilie, and Matthew, and five great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John (Lottie) Gasper and Anna Gasper; her husband Gerald Feezor and her sister Virginia (TJ) Atkinson.
