Paul E. Lannom, Sr.

Marion Paul E. Lannom, Sr. 71, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2009 at 1:15 P.M. at his home surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren. Paul was born April 27, 1938 in Marion the son of William J. & Pauline (Gamblin) Lannom. He married Alpha Nadine Grant on March 9, 1957 in Wood River and together they have shared over 52 years of marriage. He retired from the Williamson County Highway Department; he was of the Pentecostal faith. In addition to his wife he is survived by: Three Sons; Paul E. Lannom, Jr. and wife Judy of Marion Darrell R. Lannom and wife Daryl of Huntsville, Alabama Gary W. Lannom and special friend Katrina Johnson of Marion Two Daughters; Sandra J. Wilson of Greely, Colorado Cindy S. Childers and husband Steve of Marion Eleven Grandchildren; Tonya Ottem and husband Reid Mandi Diuguid and husband Ronnie Joshua Lannom Sarah Lannom Kyle Lannom and wife Jennifer Brian Lannom Tyler Lannom Melissa Stein and husband Jason Douglas Scott Lyons Sarah Childers Erin Childers Two Great Grandchildren; Logan Lannom Logan Stein Brother Mack Lannom of Carbondale Two Sisters; Betty Jean McIntosh of Marion Phyllis Ann Morris of East Alton Preceded by his Parents, Brother Eugene Lannom , Sister Delores Linck and Grandson Jimmy Rhodes. Special thanks to Ronnie Reed, Bill Lowe, Sam Davis, Jim & Donna Mullins, Shelayne Mulkins, Dr. Keller, the caring staff of Hospice of Southern Illinois for all the assistance and prayers they received during his illness. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 11 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Ed Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Fountain Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home. For those who prefer memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or the ALS Foundation.
