Paul was born February 18, 1916 to Elmer and Emiline (Elliott) Gore in Marion. He married Bernice Newton on September 04, 1953 and she preceded him in death on November 6, 1994. He later married Virginia Russell in October 2004, and she survives in Marion. Paul worked for Southern Illinois University in the Building Services. He was a member of Third Baptist Church. Paul was an Army Sgt. during WWII. Survivors include: Wife Virginia Gore of Marion One Sister: Elizabeth Stein of Marion Niece Susan Herbert of Richmond, Virginia Great Nieces: Sara Herbert of Richmond, Virginia Karla Beth Ruopoli of Charleston, South Carolina Great Nephew GT Herbert of Seattle, Washington Step Nephews: Brian Brosi of Marion Craig Brosi of Hockessin, Delaware Richard Nitterauer of Fort Wayne, Indiana Preceded by: Wife, Parents, and Sisters Thelma Gore, Lillian Collier and Pauline Brosi. Funeral services will be Monday, November 15, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Doug Morrow officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. VFW Post #1301 and American Post #147 of Marion will perform military rites at the graveside. Visitation will be Monday from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service at the funeral home. For those who prefer memorials may be given to Baptist Childrens Home. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
