Peggy Ann (Holiday) Clark

May 2, 1933 — September 4, 2022

Marion

Peggy Ann Clark, 89 of Marion, Illinois passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at Carrier Mills Nursing Home.  Peggy was born on May 2, 1933, in Marion.  She was the daughter of Ralph and Afton Holiday.

On September 3, 1955, she married the love of her life, Robert Clark at the Warder Street Baptist Church.  Together they had two sons, Terry and Gary Clark.  Peggy worked as a cashier for over 20 years at the original Hardee’s Restaurant in Marion and from there she worked at Mack’s Super Foods Grocery Store and later went on to work for Wal-Mart for another 20 years.  She never held a driver’s license and faithfully walked to work every day.   She was a devoted member of The Warder Street Baptist Church and raised her boys in a loving Christian home.  Peggy’s main priority was to always make sure her family was well cared for.  She made a home cooked dinner for her husband and children every night, even after she had worked a long day.  She raised and loved many dachshund dogs over the years, with her most recent being CoCo.  She often cooked hot meals for CoCo, too.

Peggy is survived by her two sons, Terry (Laquetta) Clark, Gary (Trina) Clark; her four grandchildren, Benjie Kent, Ashley Clark, Katie (Jake) Heinz, and Nick Clark; her seven great-grandchildren, Nicole (Cole) Reed, Abbie Kent, Gage Kent, Lanie Kent, Leiya Heinz, Maggi Heinz, and Navy Heinz, as well as other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Peggy’s wishes were to have a private graveside service.  Her family is honoring her wishes on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.
