Phyllis (Parks) Stotlar, 80, of Marion, Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2022, at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Phyllis was born on September 13, 1941, in Creal Springs, Illinois. She was the daughter of Oscar and Imogene Parks. She graduated Marion High School in May of 1959 and the very next day, May 30, 1959, she married her sweetheart, Russell Stotlar. Together they shared 58 years of marriage until his passing in 2017. They had two children, Robin and Tim.
Phyllis worked many years as the office manager for Dr. L.E. Keller, DDS and Dr. Joe McAlpin, DDS. She enjoyed traveling with Russell, doing water aerobics and walking at the Hub with her friends. She had a sparkle in her eye that lit up a little more when she spent time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Creal Springs 1st Baptist Church and served as treasurer for many years. She loved her church and church family.
She will always be treasured by her friends and family, especially her loved ones, daughter, Robin (Mike) Stapleton; son, Tim (Donna) Stotlar; sister, Sharon Woolsey; grandson, Andy (Kristy) Stapleton; granddaughter, Sara (Jonas) Hudgens; grandson, Anthony (Katie) Stotlar; grandson, Jon Stotlar; great-granddaughters, Josie Stapleton, Carly Stapleton, Kelsey Hudgens; great-grandsons, Ethan Hudgens, Tommy Wiseman, Elijah Stotlar; and great-granddaughter, Scarlett Stotlar.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Russell Stotlar and her parents, Oscar and Imogene Parks.
Binkley-Ross Funeral Home has been entrusted with assisting the family with arrangements. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home, located at 1702 W. Boulevard Street, Marion, Illinois 62959 on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Ivan Ryan officiating. Interment will follow in Cana Cemetery.
