Rebecca Lee (Murphy) Taborn

Rebecca Lee Murphy, aged 69, of Carrier Mills, Illinois, passed away at 4:43 PM on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at her residence. In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated, and memorial services will be held privately.

Born on October 23, 1955, in Harrisburg, Illinois, Rebecca was the daughter of the late Dixie L. Brothers and Louis A. Murphy. She dedicated her life to beekeeping, a pursuit that reflected her profound passion for bees, and her love for her family was evident to all who knew her.

Rebecca held her family in the highest regard, relishing every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. Her kindness and vibrant spirit left an indelible mark on all who had the honor of knowing her.

She is survived by her brother, Alan Murphy and his wife Kathleen of St. Louis, Missouri ; her children, Candaso Murphy and Carmen Murphy, both of Carrier Mills, and Keysha Dismuke of Harrisburg, Illinois; her grandchildren, Makayla Murphy of Evansville, Indiana, Acen Murphy of Harrisburg, Candace Murphy of Carrier Mills, Harmony Hyatt of Carrier Mills, Justice Hyatt of Carrier Mills, and Alijiah Hyatt of Carrier Mills; and her great-grandchildren, Malahni Beachem of Evansville, Alonte Beachem of Evansville, Grayson Murphy of Harrisburg, Kyro Meriwether of Evansville, and Cohlsen Murphy of Harrisburg.  Additionally, she is survived by her nieces, Melissa Murphy of Harrisburg and Bridget Murphy of St. Louis, and her nephew, Louis A. Murphy III of St. Louis.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her son, Carlo Taborn; her parents, Louis Murphy and Dixie Brothers; and her sisters, Katie Murphy and Sarah Murphy Beal.

Arrangements were entrusted to Blue Funeral Home under the direction of Binkley-Ross.

Her memory will be cherished by her loved ones and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
