Herrin- Reta M. Howell, 75, of Herrin died at 4:25 A.M., Sunday, February 13, 2005 at Herrin Hospital. Reta was born March 13, 1929 in the small rural community of Hafer to Lewis & Ida (Threlkeld) Moore. She graduated from Herrin High School in 1947. She was an active member of the Royalton Apostolic Church. She worked at several area plants including Smoler Brothers, Supreme Transformers and Norge. She also worked for almost twenty three years at American Magnetics and a short period at Olins. She was working at Addus Healthcare prior to her retirement. Survivors Include: Daughter: Kathy Hopper of Herrin Daughter & Son-In-Law: Marita & Albert Bowen of Herrin Grandson- Kenneth Hans Hopper of Herrin Granddaughter & husband: Ramona & Brett Wieland of Herrin Six Great Granddaughters: Kali Hopper of Johnston City, IL. Katrina Hopper of Johnston City, IL. Victoria Smith of Herrin Rebecca Hopper of Moses Lake, WA. Jordyn Wieland of Pinkneyville, IL. Paige Wieland of Herrin Sister: Wanda Hamilton of Tucson, AZ. Brother & Sister In Law: Allen & Sue Moore of Herrin Two nephews: Brad Moore of Herrin Edward Hamilton of Phoenix She was preceded in death by her parents, one Virgil Dye, sister in law Barbara (Ward) Dye, two infant nephews Scott & Richard Hamilton, two nephews Clifford Hamilton & David Dye and one niece Lynn Moore. Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Pastor Donald Maas will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital or to Hospice of Southern Illinois and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
