Robert H. “Bob” Hallstein

OBITUARY

Robert H. "Bob" Hallstein, 70 years old of Marion, Illinois passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, November 21, 2021. Robert was born on February 19, 1951, in Tecumseh, Michigan, the son of Warren and Lili (Navarre) Hallstein. He was a 1971 graduate of Delta High School in Muncie, Indiana. After completing high school, Bob went on to work as a salesclerk for Wolohan Lumber and later worked on the assembly line for the Sheller Globe Company.

Bob enjoyed weightlifting and working in his yard. He loved nature and being outdoors. He was often found taking great care of his yard, planting tomato plants, and riding his four-wheeler with the children of the family. He also found great enjoyment in feeding his backyard critters, including everything from raccoons, squirrels, and birds. His very favorite, were the hummingbirds, that he enticed with his plethora of feeders filled with his homemade concoction of sweet nectar.

He is survived by his daughter, Angela Davis and her children, Danielle, Hunter, Lawson, and Carson; his sister, Linda (Don) Pitcock of Anderson, Indiana; his nieces, Teresa Butterfield and Barbara Pitcock; his sister, Connie Dawes, of Stiritz, Illinois; his nieces, Amanda (Scott) Rady, Brandi Dawes (Donny Reed), and Amber (Josh) Vaughn; his great nieces Alyssa and Lila Rady; his great nephew, Spencer Reed; his brother, Duane (Sara) Hallstein of Ohio; his nieces, Teresa (Jesse) King, Sara Rae (Isaiah) Rupp; his great nieces and nephews, Kolt, Kash, and Kali King; his companion, Brenda Binkley of Marion, Illinois; his step daughters, Kathy (Kenny) Kleckner; Joni (Darrell) Ross; his grandchildren, Hayden, Hannah, Henlee Kleckner and Jace Slone; and his best friend, Danny Rodgers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother-in-law, Gary Dawes, and his beloved fur baby, Baba.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, November 29, 2021, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Binkley- Ross Funeral Home located at 1702 West Boulevard Street in Marion, Illinois. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 am, with Pastor Steve Utley officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City, Illinois.

In lieu of customary remembrances the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
