Jacksonville- Roberta Denham, 86, of Jacksonville, formerly of Herrin, passed away at 8:10 PM, Friday, December 3, 2004 at Prairie Village Health Care Center in Jacksonville.
Roberta was born on January 6, 1918 in Herrin to Elmer & Nellie (Cudney) Craig. She worked in the machine shop at Norge Co. in Herrin for twenty-one years before retiring from the dietary department of Herrin Hospital after twelve years.
She was a member of the Herrin First United Methodist Church and a former member of the Herrin Senior Citizens. She was a life member of the Herrin VFW Ladies Auxiliary. When she was able, Roberta enjoyed craftwork like quilting and crocheting and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons; Eugene & Richard Denham, two brothers; Elmer Jr. and Donald Craig, and three sisters; Myrtle Randolph, Pearl Payne and Lora Belle Hudgens.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 6, 2004 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Lee Lovett will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 Noon until time of service Monday at the funeral home.
