Robin Elizabeth (Schaefer) Mocaby passed away December 10, 2022, in Cape Coral, Florida. Robin was born on Valentine’s Day of 1963, the daughter of Kenneth and Nancy Schaefer. In 1969 her parents and baby brother were all tragically killed in a train wreck, and she went to live with her Aunt Carrie and Uncle Bennie Moake.
Robin was a homemaker. Her family was everything to her. She raised her family at the Lake of Egypt. They enjoyed boating and camping every summer, this is where she began her love of going barefoot. She cooked dinner every night and always kept the cleanest home. She loved doing dishes and laundry, still using a clothesline every summer. She had a green thumb and enjoyed being outside in the sun. She loved to “lay out.” She watched I.D TV, Lieutenant Joe Kenda was her favorite. She also liked Lonesome Dove and Burt Reynolds. Her daughter recalls going as a family to cut down their Christmas trees every year. She would always pick the biggest one she could find, and her husband would shove it in the house somehow. The trees never had a topper because they were always smashed into the ceiling. She also really enjoyed taking her children to the all the thrift shops looking for lost treasures.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth M. Mocaby; her son and daughter- in- law, John M. (Staci) Mocaby Jr.; her son, Zackary Ray; her grandchildren, Riley J. Roan, Remi G. Roan, Sage A. Mocaby, and John Mocaby III.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Cathaleen Schaefer and Laneer Schaefer; her parents, Kenneth and Nancy Schaefer; her baby brother, Scottie Schaefer; her uncles, Floyd Schaefer, Donald Schaefer, Elmer Schaefer, and Larry Schaefer; her aunts, Marva June Schaefer, and Carrie Moake.
