Carterville- Rose Marie Vogt, 70, of Carterville, formerly of Waterloo, died suddenly at 1:45AM, Monday, March 22, 2004, of a brain aneurysm at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah with her family by her side.
Rose was born on October 23, 1933 in East St. Louis to John & Adele (Julien) Shambon. She married her husband of fifty-one years, Ivo Vogt, on December 27, 1952 in East St. Louis. He survives of Carterville.
Mrs. Vogt served as secretary, treasurer, dispatcher, and performed clerical duties at T&I Office Equipment, which she co-owned with her husband.
Rose was an active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin and served as immediate past president of the Daughters of Mary. She was very family oriented and enjoyed spending time on the farm helping Ivo. In her free time Rose liked to play bridge and before that bowling. She had a sly, sarcastic wit about her that kept everyone on his or her toes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister in law; Dorothy Wink, and one brother in law; Armin Vogt.
The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 25, 2004 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Monsignor Ken Schaefer will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-9:00 PM, Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home. As per family wishes, Roses body will be cremated and inurnment in San Carlo Cemetery will take place at a later date.
