Ruby L. McGill-Beavers

Goreville- Ruby L. McGill-Beavers, age 99, of Goreville, passed away at 12:45am on Friday, September 6, 2013. Ruby was born in Saline County on September 14, 1913, the daughter of Samuel Edward and Pearl Mae (Percifield) Staffey.  She married George Washington McGill on May 14, 1936.  He preceded her in death on April 27, 1947.  She later married Clarence Beavers on March 28, 1952.  He preceded her in death on July 1, 1994. Mrs. Beavers was a member of the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall in Marion.  She had worked as a home health aide, retiring at the age of 93. Survivors include her daughter- Sarah Helen Crabtree of Marion, Daughter- Hazel and Shirley Moeckel of Waterloo, Daughter- Ruth Ellen and Bill Galloway of Christopher, Son- Van Anderson and Ada McGill of Elkville,  Daughter- Sally Ann and Jerry Ferguson of Marion, Daughter- Edie L. Andres of Marion, Son- Dallas J. Beavers of Goreville, 24 Grandchildren, 43 Great Grandchildren, 8 Great Great Grandchildren, Several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, twin sons- Samuel and George McGill, son- Michael J. McGill, five brothers, and five sisters. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, September 9, 2013 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Brother John Lindell officiating.  Burial will follow at Egyptian Memorial Gardens in Energy.  Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to St. Judes Childrens research Hospital.  Envelopes will be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home; 800 N Market Street; Marion, IL 62959.
