S. Dale Heltsley

S. Dale Heltsley, 74, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 11:20 A.M. at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Dale was born February 26, 1936 in Pittsburg the son of Jesse & Pearl (Westmoreland) Heltsley. He married Joann Ernwine and she survives in Marion. He had proudly answered the call to serve his country in the Army during WWII, he was stationed in Germany. He was a member of the New Horizons General Baptist Church, Marion VFW Post #1301 and American Legion Post #147. Dale retired from the City of Marion. Survivors include; Wife Joann Heltsley of Marion Son Dale Heltsley and wife Pearl of Carterville Six Grandchildren Brother Jack Heltsley of Iowa City, Iowa Three sisters; Catherine Cook of Marine, Illinois Sue Eiseclmen of Pennsylvania Dorothy Dunnigan of High Pointe, North Carolina Preceded by his Parents, Son Mark Heltsley, Brothers Harry & Carl Heltsley and Sister Wilma Motsinger. Memorial services will be Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 11 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Cockburn officiating. Inurnment will follow in Fountain Cemetery. Military rites will be presented by Marions VFW Post #1301, American Legion Post #147 and National Guard Flag Detail Unit. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
